Session 1:

Presenter: Eva Dabasy

• Spirituality: exploring definitions

• Introduction to possible links between spirituality and health.

Session 2:

Presenter: Dr Richard Chambers

Richard is a Clinical Psychologist and internationally recognised expert in Mindfulness. Dr Chambers will present research outcomes of links between spirituality, health and wholeness, encompassing some of the following:

​

• How an academic in the health sciences sees the links between spirituality, health and wholeness

• Wellness and spirituality

• Happiness, wholeness and spirituality

• The brain, mind and health: depression and other conditions and possible links to spirituality

• Relationships with self and others and their effects on health

• Relationship with God/universal being and its effects on health.

Session 3:

Presenter: Pastor Wayne Muschamp

​

Wayne is a pastor of the Lutheran Church of Australia and is serving the congregation of Nunawading and Waverley. He has been in the present position for 13 years. He serves as a Zone Counsellor for the pastors of the eastern metropolitan regions. Besides an ongoing interest in theology, he has particular concerns for religious freedom and ecumenism, working for the states of Victoria and Tasmania as representative on the Faith and Order Commission and the liaison person for social issues. Here are some of the topics Wayne will be presenting:

 

• A vision of spirituality

• The lived experience of Christian spirituality, encompassing: experience of the Word; experience of sacraments; confession and absolution

• A pastor's perspective.
